  • Fruit acids are best proven application for treating oily skin. They help dissolving excess oils from the skin without stripping the moisture from the skin. Applying a puree of fresh tomatoes help controlling excess oil on the skin.
  • A paste containing mixture of half teaspoon of honey with one teaspoon of lemon juice and egg white, fuller earth helps cleansing excess oil from the surface of the skin. The paste should be applied uniformly on the facial skin and leave it for 20 minutes before rinsing it properly.
  • To reduce the excess oil on the nose tip, chin or forehead areas where sebum gets collected in excess and gives a patchy look, you should apply little cucumber juice. Dry it throughly and apply make-up over it while you are going out somewhere.
  • For excessive oily skin a mixture of few drops of eau de cologne not only helps keeping away excess oil but also acts as refining agent for the skin pores by acting as astringent hence prevents acne.
  • The raw papaya pulp also act as good cleansing agent by softening dead skin cells and aiding their removal. So, with the removal of outer dead layer, the sebum production gets reduced because new skin layer needs less natural oil for its moisturization.

Apart from this protein rich diet with plenty of leafy vegetables and fresh fruits also helps in the process. Sugary food, high fat food and junk food should be restricted.  The diet should be supplemented with high nutritional yeast and whole grains, beans and nuts.

Drinking plenty of water helps keeping the face hydrated and flush out toxins and excess oil, which can be easily removed by washing the skin.
